Now Hiring: Sustainability Executive! 

CAFA is a UK headquartered, internationally recognised climate NGO. Our mission is to speed up industry and business transition, and we do that by working with the trade associations and professional bodies that set the standards for entire sectors.

Because our work touches all industries, no one day is the same. It makes this role uniquely varied and incredibly interesting. It splits across two connected strands. The first is technical: carbon footprinting and the delivery of CAFA's sustainability services, learning on the job alongside our Sustainability Director. The second is editorial: writing content and developing the resources that help people understand what is changing and act on it. Alongside both, you'll oversee a range of day to day relationships.

This is a key role in a small, tight knit team, so there is real ownership early and scope to grow fast. It is not for the faint hearted. It asks for ambition, dedication, a strong work ethic, can do energy and an entrepreneurial approach.

Full time, permanent, remote (UK-based). Salary in line with experience, starting from £26,500 plus annual performance related bonus. Ideally 2+ years' experience and the right to work in the UK.

Marketing and Content Volunteer

About the Role

We are looking for a volunteer to support the marketing and content team to help amplify CAFA’s mission by creating engaging, accurate, and accessible assets and insights. The role is ideal for students or early-career individuals interested in sustainability, communications, journalism, or marketing. Volunteers will learn how to translate climate-related information into compelling narratives for professional audiences, while gaining experience working in an NGO environment. This is an unpaid role with a flexible commitment of around 3-5 hours (minimum 3 hours) per week and can continue for as long as you wish to contribute.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Write short insights (500-1000 words) on climate trends, sustainability topics, or sector-specific news.

  • Draft LinkedIn posts that highlight CAFA’s work, events, research, or stories.

  • Conduct desk-based research to ensure posts are accurate, credible, and aligned with CAFA messaging.

  • Assist with identifying opportunities to grow CAFA’s online presence.

  • Collaborate with CAFA team members to refine tone, messaging, and visual branding.

 

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

  • Interest in climate change, sustainability, carbon accounting, or related fields.

  • Ability to summarise research into accessible content.

  • Organised, reliable, and comfortable working independently.

  • Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to a mission-driven organisation.

 

Desirable

  • Familiarity with LinkedIn’s professional audience and tone.

  • Currently pursuing or holding a degree in an environmental or related discipline.

  • Basic understanding of climate terminology.
