Connect with Climate Action for Associations at Climate Week NYC

Climate Action for Associations (CAFA) will have a strong presence at Climate Week NYC (22nd to 29th of September) and looks forward to connecting with association business leaders, policymakers, civil society representatives, and other stakeholders to discuss important and timely issues around climate action and the critical role that associations and their SME members play in this race.

Organised by the Climate Group, in partnership with the UN and the City of New York, Climate Week NYC runs alongside the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). This year’s theme, "It’s Time," underscores the urgency for decisive action and celebrates the progress being made by businesses, organisations, and governments leading the way.

Our CEO, Alison Heppenstall, will be in attendance.

If you are interested in meeting with us in New York City or connecting with us during one of the below events, please contact info@cafacollective.org. Please note all times listed below are EDT.

2pm – How Do We Scale and Accelerate the Net Zero Transition? The Crucial Role of International Standards

Three major challenges are slowing down the net zero transition; confusion around what good net zero action looks like, confusion around how to measure progress towards net zero and confusion around who to trust and how to verify net zero claims. The net zero transition will not succeed without sufficient reporting, governance and accountability.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is convening the development of the world’s first verifiable international standard for organizational net zero transition plans. Leveraging this powerful behind-the-scenes system will become possible once the ISO net zero standard launches at the targeted date of COP30.

As an adopter of the ISO Net Zero Guidelines both in terms of our internal and association activities, as a contributor to the development of the first international standard, CAFA is looking forward to this discussion. This event is streamed online and free and open to all.

3.00-6.15pm + IFAC Accelerating Climate and Sustainability Related Disclosures

CAFA will be joining IFAC, IFRS Foundation, and IOSCO with global experts to discuss accelerating and building trust in sustainability disclosure.
