Demonstrating Climate Leadership and Driving the Net Zero Agenda
Time & Location
About the Event
Membership organisations must demonstrate strong climate leadership in order to hit the global emission targets set out by the UN.
There is huge opportunity and an increasing necessity for associations to drive the climate conversation harder and implement change faster. Members of bodies are demanding clear, sustainable leadership from their peak body and with less than 9 years remaining for businesses to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals and 2030 net zero targets, the time to act is now.
Climate Action for Associations (CAFA), has been developed in response to the growing demand from membership organisations who are seeking guidance on how to implement sustainable business practices, take climate action internally and drive member value.
During this session, Director of Climate Action for Associations (CAFA) Ali Heppenstall, will share CAFA’s mission, key drivers, tools for change and share some of the great work other membership organisations are already implementing to help their sectors and professions take climate action.
The session will be opened up to incite a wider peer-to-peer conversation covering key areas such as:
- Where is your membership organisation in its net zero journey
- Are you clear on what your members need from you?
- Do you consider the transition to net zero an opportunity for your association and your members or a cost?
