ACEVO is the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations, the leading independent membership organisation representing leaders of charities and social enterprises.
ACEVO is set to launch its inaugural Climate Week from 9-13 September 2024. This initiative aims to mobilise civil society leaders around the critical issues of climate change and environmental sustainability.
The week-long event will feature a variety of online engagements, including a public digital meeting exploring the question, "Can civil society afford to care about climate change?" A podcast episode will further address the intersection of climate action and social justice.
ACEVO invites chief executives, chairs, trustees, and senior leaders of charities to actively participate in the discussions and share their experiences, which will be summarised in a concluding blog post.
This initiative offers a notable opportunity for leaders in the civil society sector to engage with and reflect on their role in climate action. Whether your organisation is just beginning its climate journey or is already making significant strides, ACEVO’s Climate Week provides a platform to join the conversation and demonstrate your commitment to environmental sustainability.
ACEVO has been a member of the CAFA Collective since 2021 and has since implemented impressive sustainability programmes both internally and for their members.
“It’s fantastic to see ACEVO leading the way in climate action, showing a strong commitment to proactive climate leadership and supporting its members—charity and social enterprise leaders who play a crucial role in the race to net zero.”
Alison Heppenstall, Founder & CEO, Climate Action for Associations.
