On 25th February, CAFA proudly marked its expansion into the Americas with an inspiring online launch event.

CAFA’s extension into America builds on the strong foundations of the Association Climate Action Coalition’s (Ac3) work within the membership sector, marking an exciting new chapter.

The webinar brought together membership sector leaders and sustainability professionals from membership organisations across America and Europe to explore the vital role associations play in driving climate action and decarbonisation across the industries and sectors they represent.

We were delighted to hear from an exceptional panel of speakers, including:

  • Christopher Hancock, Destination Canada

  • Tanya Popeau, PCMA

  • Scott Breen and Roxanne Sharif, Can Manufacturers Institute

  • Jennifer Sproul, Institute of Interna Communication

  • Mary Ntamark, International Marine Contractors Association

...who shared more on the fantastic work they’ve undertaken to embed sustainability within their membership organisations, as well as key learnings from their respective journeys.

There has never been a more important moment to roll out sustainability support to membership organisations across America. As the membership sector continues to recognise its collective influence on businesses and driving system-wide change, CAFA offers a range of resources, tools, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, and practical guidance to support the acceleration of decarbonisation across industries.

The overwhelmingly positive response to the launch event reinforces the appetite for collective climate action within the sector, and we’re excited to continue the momentum -including at our first America Member Meet-Up on 26th March 2026.

If you are a membership organisation, whether just starting out or already making great strides in sustainability, we would love for you to join our collective.

Membership is free and you can sign up here.
