London, UK - August 15, 2025 - Climate Action for Associations (CAFA) is thrilled to welcome The British Beauty Council as a new member of the CAFA Collective. Since its inception in 2018, the British Beauty Council has emerged as a key advocate for the beauty industry, representing a diverse community of professionals and businesses. As a not-for-profit organisation, the Council works tirelessly to address both current and future challenges, championing the sector’s voice in conversations with government, while supporting trade organisations across the industry.

Why this partnership matters

The beauty industry is a cornerstone of the UK economy, valued at £30.4 billion in 2024 and contributing £8.6 billion in taxes. The British Beauty Council represents a predominantly female workforce of 700,000 people and plays a crucial role in highlighting the economic and social value of the industry. Through its collaboration with global experts, including Oxford Economics, the Council provides invaluable insights into the sector's contribution to UK GDP and the broader global landscape.

In a time of economic uncertainty and increasing pressure to meet sustainability goals, the beauty industry faces numerous challenges. The British Beauty Council’s commitment to supporting its members through its four core pillars (Policy and Influence, Talent and Careers, Trade, Export and Investment, Innovation and Technology), align perfectly with CAFA's mission to promote sustainability within key industries.

Collaborating for climate action

By joining CAFA, The British Beauty Council is taking a significant step toward integrating climate action into the beauty sector. The collaboration will help foster a community of like-minded organisations committed to driving positive change and reducing the industry's emissions footprint. As a leader in advocating for the beauty industry’s growth, the British Beauty Council’s participation in the CAFA Collective strengthens our shared efforts to build a more sustainable, resilient future for the sector.

“We are absolutely delighted to become a member of Climate Action for Associations. This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to building a more sustainable and resilient future through skills, innovation, and responsible governance. Joining this forward-thinking community marks an exciting step in accelerating our climate leadership and driving meaningful change across our sector.”Dawn Rossell, National Operations Manager at The Controls & Skills Authority
