Climate Action for Associations (CAFA) is pleased to announce that the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has joined the CAFA Collective, a collaborative alliance of professional bodies and trade associations united in their mission to drive climate action across industries and global value chains.
IMCA represents the marine contracting industry worldwide, with a membership spanning offshore energy, marine construction, and renewable infrastructure sectors. Since its inception, IMCA has been a vocal advocate for operational excellence, safety, and sustainability in offshore marine activities - a field that is increasingly critical in the transition to a low-carbon future.
“IMCA’s participation in CAFA reflects our dedication to driving sustainability across the marine contracting industry. By supporting collaborative action on carbon reduction, we aim to help our members navigate the energy transition and promote responsible offshore operations that meet the challenges of a changing climate" Lee Billingham, Director of Strategy and Energy Transition
IMCA brings a global perspective and deep sectoral expertise to the CAFA Collective, enhancing the group’s ability to influence sustainable innovation in high-impact industries. With extensive experience developing technical guidance and best practice frameworks, IMCA is well positioned to accelerate climate-aligned practices across the marine contracting and offshore project lifecycle.
“We are delighted to welcome IMCA to the CAFA Collective. Their international reach, technical credibility, and commitment to continuous improvement are commendable. The marine industry is pivotal in enabling the clean energy transition, and IMCA’s leadership will be instrumental in helping embed climate considerations into complex, large-scale infrastructure projects.” Ali Heppenstall, CEO and Founder of CAFA
As part of the CAFA Collective, IMCA will participate in joint initiatives focused on strategy alignment, policy engagement, and sustainability integration. By leveraging CAFA’s shared resources and expert community, IMCA aims to support its members in meeting evolving expectations around environmental performance, risk resilience, and climate-related disclosure.
