London, UK - August 15, 2025 - Climate Action for Associations (CAFA) is excited to welcome The Guild of Fine Food (GFF). The GFF represents around 1,000 members across the food and drink sector, split between small producers with turnovers under £1 million and independent retailers such as farm shops, delis, and specialist food outlets. Many members join at an early stage of their journey, seeking guidance and support to grow, while retailers benefit from training, codes of practice, and a strong community network.
GFF’s work spans training courses, compliance support, and publishing the Fine Food Digest magazine, alongside running internationally recognised awards programmes. These include the Great Taste Awards, now in their 32nd year with over 14,000 entries, and the World Cheese Awards, which bring together thousands of products and participants globally each year. With offices in Dorset and London and a team of 20, GFF plays a vital role in championing fine food and supporting independent businesses across the UK and beyond.
Why this partnership matters
Sustainability is increasingly shaping the food and drink industry, and GFF is keen to help its members navigate this shift. The federation has already introduced sustainability-focused awards, offered webinars on topics such as B Corp certification, and recognises the growing importance of environmental performance for producers and retailers alike. While producers often face resource challenges, and retailers must balance compliance with day-to-day operations, GFF is committed to learning, adapting, and supporting its network as they embed more sustainable practices.
Collaborating for climate action
Joining CAFA offers GFF the chance to connect its members with a broader cross-sector community, helping small producers and independent retailers access practical tools, peer insights, and policy updates that might otherwise be out of reach. Peer-to-peer learning, a key value for GFF, aligns directly with CAFA’s mission to share knowledge and accelerate progress collectively. By collaborating, GFF can strengthen the support it offers its members, showcase leadership in sustainable food and drink, and ensure that fine food businesses of all sizes have a voice in shaping a climate-conscious future.
"The Guild of Fine Food is committed to supporting sustainability efforts within the independent food and drink sector. Our members are proud to produce and sell the very best food and drink, and the industry has a significant role to play in both sustainability and planetary health, as well as a need for safeguarding against climate risks. We hope that by working with CAFA, and other committed membership organisations within the collective, the Guild of Fine Food can help our members improve their practices and promote best practice.” Chloë Warren-Wood, Operations Coordinator, Guild of Fine Food
